Go For the Gold!

Welcome Farmers!

This week we will talk about ribbons, and how working to achieve them can help you. Now, I'm just gonna tell you flat-out, I've achieved most if not all of the ribbons I have (and no, im not saying I have all of them because I don't) by accident, at least not on purpose. Although I have looked at the ribbon box a few times, and have a general idea of what ribbons can be won for, I haven't actually set my mind to achieve them. But this is something I realize I should be doing, since it earns you about 1,000-5,000 -possibly more- per ribbon!
Just because I feel like it, and not to be bragging (although to some it may be the opposite, since they have much more) I'm gonna list what I have high ribbons in.

Local Celebrity
Green Thumb
Noah's Ark

Red ribbons in:

Pack Rat
Animal Shelter
Tree Hugger
Crop Whisperer
King of Compost

So spend some time in your Ribbon box, located here:

and see how far you have to go 'till you earn the next ribbon in each catagory, then make goals from there!

Thats it for this time,

Lock 'em Up!

Yo, yo!
Welcome, Farmers!

As you've seen on my previous entries, I have my farm character blocked in with haybales, rainbow ones at that, lol. But why would I do that? (besides the fact that it looks cool) Well, it makes for faster plowing, planting and harvesting of crops (and trees), as well as speeding up the process of collecting from your animals. Sure, hay bales are fun, but if you are a new farmer, you'll probably have other things to spend your gold on, like crops, trees and animals. So how can you get around this? Use signposts! like this:

Make sure you get them as close to your person as possible, to make absolutely sure this is working, click somewhere else on your farm,(NOT a place thats fenced in or blocked off in some way) and see if your person walks there, if not then you've done this correctly! Yay you! If they do still move, try rearranging your signposts/haybales. Feel like being a little more creative? If you have at least 4 "Perfect Bunches"/flower bouquets, put those around your farmer. Beware though, as these will droop 2 weeks after placement.

This cuts the time you spend tending your plots by AT LEAST half, that leaves you more time to accept and send gifts, and otherwise help out your neighbors' farms (as well as your own, as I've mentioned in a previous lesson, it gives you spare coins and XP to fertilize their crops and feed their chickens)

Thanks for attending this class!

A Farmer Has Good Timing...

Welcome, Farmers!

Another aspect of farming that we need to keep in mind is timing, and if you've ever accidentally planted raspberries right before you went to bed, then you already know that. (Raspberries are a 2 hour crop. in 2 hours they're ready, in 4 they are whithered) But in addition to how timing helps with when to plant what, it also helps with the gifting part of the game. (And if you ask me? gifting is the BEST part of the game!)

So, why is timing important for anything other than crops? Well, if you've ever sent a ton, and I do mean a ton, of gifts in one day, a message comes up that looks like this:

its the lamest thing in the world when you want to return the favor of people helping you out by sending you gifts. How to remedy this is to go on 2 to 3 times a day, at least 4 hours apart. thats approximately how long it takes for the gifting system to replenish. Also you need to try and accept only one gift per farmer, per 4 hours, because then it will just never allow you to receive it. Sometimes it will let you, but most times it will just take you straight back to your farm- not fun when you're trying to receive a gift.

It is important to remember, this timely manner also applies to "wishing" or "making your wishlist" this screen can be accessed by following these steps:
accept all gifts, then click it again to get the following picture:

Random Tip:

Hey Farmers!

Welcome to this weeks tip!

This week I just have a little tip to help you level up faster in FarmVille :-)

Hopefully, as short as this is it will help SOME of you, or at least one of you,
Go to your farm, Go to the "My Neighbors" tab at the top of your farm and click on it. If you have at least 5 neighbors, it should show one of your neighbors at the top of this new page. It should be telling you that they have racoons ransacking their farm, foxes scaring their animals, leaves scattered everywhere, or something like that.

Click "Go to _____'s Farm" it should take you to your farm first, then right when it loads (or maybe before) it will start saying "Loading farm", and it will take you to your neighbor with the issue. That farmer's profile picture will show up, and restate whatever the issue is with their farm, and as you to help, click Accept. (its the only choice you have, lol) And just like that, you get 20 coins, and 5 XP (or experience points). Fertilize their crops for 4 coins and 1 XP. Feed their chickens (if they have them) for 4 coins and 1 XP Then go back to your farm by clicking "Play" on the same bar where it says "My Neighbors". Repeat the process untill you either get tired or run out of neighbors!

Extra Tid-Bit- While you're adding all these people, you can alternate between hitting the "Add As Neighbor" button (pictured below) and the "Visit ____'s Farm" button. when there is someones farm to go to, do that, but when there isn't, add someone ^_^
(For tutorial purposes, I've blanked out all the info about the neighbor)

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we all need like a million neighbors, but 50 is the highest you get a ribbon for, so thats a good place to stop. I think thats what I'll do myself, if I haven't already gone over that.., I don't think I have!

This is one of my favorite things to do, it helps alot and it really just helps everyone ^_^

In-Between Lessons No. 1

Welcome, Farmers!

so I think I will go ahead and post a picture of my farm (or a few of them) in between Lessons, and A new one on each actual lesson. Or just when I feel like it, and have something cool/new to share about my farm!

Here's the one for this time:

I realize its not THAT differnt from last time's picture, but I wanted to catch a pic of all the coffee ready 'cause its pretty to me ^_^

And maybe I should have a new one of these every 3 days? My first was yesterday and I've already written 3 almost 4! (I have them scheduled to release at a later time- such a cool feature!)

First Tips Ever!

Welcome, Farmers!
Yay! so I just launched this blog and I'm kind of excited about it!

This way Ill get to help more people understand Farmville, how great ^_^
I recently started playing the game, but in this short time, I've picked up some tips and tricks along the way, and now I would like to share them with you people, yay! Lol

When you are first starting off, I believe there is a tutorial or something to go through, that helps, a little. But what it doesn't share is how to advance quicker in the game. Thats what this blog is for, and YES, I do realize that I am not the only one who has had this idea, but I think about this game and little tidbits about it way too often NOT to do this.

So you've started your farm, your sitting there wondering what to do? Maybe you've added as many as your friends as want to play or already play, and you need more? It's time to start adding more neighbors!

OPTIONAL- FOR ADDED SAFETY- If you are worried or nervous about random people seeing your profile, you need to make a "List" for your farmville friends that you are about to add if you choose to do so. Click on "Friends" (in the blue bar at the top), then on the left click on "Make a New List". (I call mine "Games" , because I play more than just farmville)
Then go to Account>>> Privacy Settings>>> Profile Information. and whatever you dont want random people to see, click on the little Lock to the right, and then click Custom, then where it says EXCEPT, you put Games (or whatever you named your list)

Now you can safely add whoever!

Here are two links (These are for facebook, because thats how I play it)
to help you do just that (I've used these links and gotten a good response)

Here are a few more I just found:

You can find these by searching at the top of your facebook page, just search "FarmVille Add me"
and quite a few results should show up. How these work is you go on there, become a fan, then like it says, add people from the wall. Also you should post a comment or whatever saying "Add me"

This really helps to build up neighbors quickly, safely, and free of charge!

Thats it for our first Lesson! Stay tuned for next week's Lesson!
