Go For the Gold!

Welcome Farmers!

This week we will talk about ribbons, and how working to achieve them can help you. Now, I'm just gonna tell you flat-out, I've achieved most if not all of the ribbons I have (and no, im not saying I have all of them because I don't) by accident, at least not on purpose. Although I have looked at the ribbon box a few times, and have a general idea of what ribbons can be won for, I haven't actually set my mind to achieve them. But this is something I realize I should be doing, since it earns you about 1,000-5,000 -possibly more- per ribbon!
Just because I feel like it, and not to be bragging (although to some it may be the opposite, since they have much more) I'm gonna list what I have high ribbons in.

Local Celebrity
Green Thumb
Noah's Ark

Red ribbons in:

Pack Rat
Animal Shelter
Tree Hugger
Crop Whisperer
King of Compost

So spend some time in your Ribbon box, located here:

and see how far you have to go 'till you earn the next ribbon in each catagory, then make goals from there!

Thats it for this time,
Stay tuned for Next week's Lesson!

Lock 'em Up!

Yo, yo!
Welcome, Farmers!

As you've seen on my previous entries, I have my farm character blocked in with haybales, rainbow ones at that, lol. But why would I do that? (besides the fact that it looks cool) Well, it makes for faster plowing, planting and harvesting of crops (and trees), as well as speeding up the process of collecting from your animals. Sure, hay bales are fun, but if you are a new farmer, you'll probably have other things to spend your gold on, like crops, trees and animals. So how can you get around this? Use signposts! like this:

Make sure you get them as close to your person as possible, to make absolutely sure this is working, click somewhere else on your farm,(NOT a place thats fenced in or blocked off in some way) and see if your person walks there, if not then you've done this correctly! Yay you! If they do still move, try rearranging your signposts/haybales. Feel like being a little more creative? If you have at least 4 "Perfect Bunches"/flower bouquets, put those around your farmer. Beware though, as these will droop 2 weeks after placement.

This cuts the time you spend tending your plots by AT LEAST half, that leaves you more time to accept and send gifts, and otherwise help out your neighbors' farms (as well as your own, as I've mentioned in a previous lesson, it gives you spare coins and XP to fertilize their crops and feed their chickens)

Thanks for attending this class!
